River feeder
River feeder
River feeder 12.2ft / 100g. The rod with a casting weight range of 40-50-60-70 grams + feed, also can be used with an 80 grams feeder + feed at a distance of 35 meters.
This rod turned out to have a very interesting history of making. I’ll start off by saying that before picturing this rod in my mind, I have remodeled over a hundred rods of other brands. These were two-piece design rods, whose owners asked to cut the butt section and make an additional joint there because they didn't feel comfortable handling a rod with a transport length of 1.88 m. Those were the people with the following opinion: "A rod can be of any kind, but it has to have a two-piece design!!!", or "I would love to fish with a two-piece rod, but I don't because of its stupid transport length".
The decision to make an additional joint in the handle allowed me to make a rod that has all the advantages of a two-piece rod, BUT, its transport length when folded down was 1.39 m. It is also possible to transport it in a two-piece assembled version, equipped with a spool and the main line with a terminal tackle threaded through guides for quick assembly, for example, for working in competition mode when you need to quickly unpack several rods before a tour. I frequently have long discussions with my clients, and as it turns out, in reality, most owners always pack down their rods completely after fishing.
The rod with a casting weight range of 40-50-60-70 grams + feed, also can be used with an 80 grams feeder + feed at a distance of 35 meters. The bullet feeder of medium capacity easily flies to a distance of 65 meters. This rod can also be used for carp fishing with light flat feeders, where it is capable of performing long-range power casts.
For the balance of the tackle and comfortable work, on this rod I have made a handle of sufficient length – 445 mm, with a rear grip diameter of 26 mm. Medium-sized reels such as Daiwa 3000 by English numeration (old sizing), or a Daiwa 5000 LT concept would be ideal for this rod. The rod is equipped with a reliable 16-size Fuji TVS screw down reel seat that securely locks the reel foot.
The butt ring is 20 mm in size for good braid and line flow and to prevent rod wobbling when winding in the braid. The 2 and 2.5 oz quivertips come fitted with 4.5 mm guides to work with thick braids and lines, and for large shock leader knots. The 1 oz quivertip has 4 mm guides – such decrease is deliberately made to reduce fluctuation of the soft quivertip after casting (reduced parasitic oscillations lower the risk of breakage of the quivertip).
