Often, people who are used to fishing with big size reels ask me to make a slim, lightweight blank. This brings in relevant implications on the size of the reel seat, the size of the butt ring, handle length and diameter.
A rod intended for fishing on medium and big rivers, canals. A highly balanced blank capable of delivering VERY ACCURATE casts with 80-100 grams feeders + feed to large distances. Overload and work with heavier feeders are also possible, provided that the casting force and distance are reduced. That is, the rod can work fine with feeders of 120 grams + feed at close distances of 30-45 meters. This rod can also be very successfully used with light flat feeders of 45-60 grams for long-range power casts.
For the balance of the tackle and comfortable work, on this rod I have made a handle of sufficient length – 470 mm, with a rear grip diameter of 27 mm. Daiwa Cast’izm and Shimano Ultegra type reels would be ideal on this rod, that’s why it is equipped with a reliable 17-size Fuji TVS screw down reel seat that securely locks the reel foot.
The butt ring is 30 mm in size for good braid and line flow and to prevent rod wobbling when winding in the braid. Quivertips are fitted with 5 mm guides to work with thick braids and lines, and for large shock leader knots.
